MCVL, U.S.A. — The Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League (MCVL) announced its ninth edition of the weekly awards on Tuesday, recognizing Wabash's Jaden Greenwell and Adrian's Carson Bell for their standout performances.
The MCVL honored two first-time winners in Week 9, naming Greenwell the Offensive Player of the Week and Bell the Defensive Player of the Week.
Greenwell, a freshman middle blocker, hit at a blistering .528 clip, racking up 3.0 kills per set in three matches for the Little Giants. The Indianapolis-native had 10+ kills in two matches against ranked opponents, tallying 11 kills against No. 5 Cal Lutheran and 13 kills against No. 9 UC Santa Cruz.
Bell, a senior middle blocker, had 12 blocks in three matches, averaging 1.09 blocks per set. Bell's best performance came against Greenville, when he racked up seven blocks in the five-set victory. The Bulldogs went 2-1 for the week, winning in five over Greenville and sweeping Franklin.
Bell is Adrian's first winner this season while Greenwell joins teammate Bawibawi Thang (Week 6) as Wabash's second winner this season.
