MCVL, U.S.A. —  The Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League (MCVL) announced its Week Eight weekly honors on Tuesday, recognizing Calvin's Daniel Rua and Baldwin Wallace's Colby Whiteside. 

Rua was named the MCVL's Offensive Player of the Week as he aided the Knights to a comeback victory in five sets over Cornerstone,, extending Calvin's win streak to 11-straight. Whiteside earned Defensive Player of the Week, as voted on by the league's coaches, following two outstanding performances against Wabash and 14th-ranked Wentworth. 

Rua, a junior outside hitter from Medellin, Colombia, racked up 17 kills, averaging 3.40 kills per set in the come-from-behind win. Rua also added two service aces in Calvin's lone match of the week, racking up 19.5 total points. 

Whiteside racked up 10 total blocks in two matches for BW on the week, of which was highlighted by a five-set win over 14th-ranked Wentworth. Whiteside had eight total blocks as Baldwin Wallace erased a 2-0 deficit with a reverse sweep over Wentworth at the Cal-Lu-Fornia Invitational. He also added two blocks in a five-set defeat to Wabash.
