Baldwin Wallace’s Huynh, Mayberry Lead Yellow Jackets to Sweep of MCVL’s Week Two Awards

MCVL, U.S.A. — Baldwin Wallace's Owen Huynh and Bobby Mayberry were tabbed as the Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League's (MCVL) Players of the Week, as announced on Tuesday afternoon. 

Huynh was named Offensive Player of the Week while Mayberry earned Defensive Player of the Week. Huynh and Mayberry paced the 15th-ranked Yellow Jackets to a 3-0 weekend in New York, which included three-straight sweep victories of Polytechnic Institute (N.Y.), Carlow (Pa.) and 17th-ranked St. John Fisher (N.Y.). 

Huynh, a junior from Loveland, Ohio, racked up 28 kills, averaging 4.67 kills per set in two matches played for BW. He hit .296 with 11 kills in BW's win over SUNY Poly and followed that with 17 kills against St. John Fisher, amassing 18.0 total points in a key road victory for BW. 

Mayberry, a junior from Pittsburgh, Pa., had eight total blocks in two matches for the Yellow Jackets. In both of BW's wins, Mayberry had four blocks in each match. His 1.33 blocks per set this week earned him his first career Defensive Player of the Week honor.
